Man dies after shooting outside Jackson sports bar
JACKSON — A 24-year-old man died after being shot early Sunday outside Last Call Sports Bar on Ridgewood Road, the Jackson Police Department said.
Officers from Precinct Four responded about 2:30 a.m. to the 6300 block of Ridgewood Road in reference to a shooting, police said. Investigators identified the victim as Joshua Butler, who was shot following an altercation at the location.
Butler was taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle and later died from his injuries, police said. His next of kin has been notified, authorities added.
The department’s Robbery Homicide Unit and Mobile Crime Unit were called to the scene to investigate. No additional details about suspects or arrests were immediately released.
