Lowndes County sheriff updates jail software, app experiences outages

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that it is updating its jail software and that its mobile app is not loading new arrest information and mugshots while the update is implemented.

The office said it is experiencing technical difficulties during the rollout and that its team is working to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.

The sheriff’s office is the primary law enforcement agency for Lowndes County and is responsible for operating the county jail and maintaining records related to arrests. Mobile apps and online portals are commonly used by sheriff’s offices to provide public access to booking information and mugshots, so interruptions can affect residents, journalists and legal professionals who rely on timely records.

The office thanked users for their patience and asked the public to pardon the progress while it restores full functionality to the app. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
