Light Up the Night returns with free headlight cleanings
After a recent ice storm forced a postponement, organizers said the Light Up the Night event will resume Friday, March 6, offering free headlight cleanings to drivers at OPD, 9 Industrial Park Drive. The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m., organizers said in a Facebook post.
Organizers said the initiative is intended to help drivers “see (and be seen)” by removing grime and buildup that can reduce headlight output. The post described the service as a free community offering to improve road visibility.
Keeping headlights clean can improve nighttime visibility for drivers and make vehicles more noticeable to pedestrians and other motorists, especially after winter storms that leave road salt and debris on vehicles. Community groups and municipal agencies often stage similar events to address vehicle maintenance items that affect safety.
The Facebook post encouraged residents to stop by the OPD location during the scheduled hours. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
