Lafayette Schools close Monday due to inclement weather
Lafayette Schools announced on Facebook that all schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, because of inclement weather in the area.
The district urged families to remain weather-aware and to follow local weather stations and Lafayette County Emergency Management for the latest safety information. Lafayette Schools said it will continue to monitor conditions before making a decision about operations for Tuesday, Jan. 27.
School closures affect transportation, extracurricular activities and school meal services and are used to protect students and staff when hazardous weather threatens road conditions and building access. Lafayette Schools is the public school district that serves students in Lafayette County.
