Lafayette County officials posted on Facebook that they will distribute MREs and bottled water starting at 12 p.m. on Feb. 6 at multiple sites in the county and the City of Oxford.
Distribution locations listed in the post include Lafayette County Fire Station 3 at 22 CR 369 and Lafayette County Fire Station 12 at 1301 Highway 30. The City of Oxford distribution site is Woodland Park, the post said.
MREs, or meals ready-to-eat, and bottled water are commonly provided by local authorities and volunteer organizations to meet immediate needs during outages, severe weather or other emergencies. Officials asked residents to be patient and kind to the crews and volunteers staffing the sites and reminded residents that distribution will end when supplies are exhausted.
