Jail staff named January employees of month after ACA accreditation
The Sheriff’s Office named members of its jail staff as January Employees of the Month, praising their professionalism, teamwork and commitment to excellence in achieving national accreditation through the American Correctional Association, the office said in a Facebook post.
The post said a photograph showed several staff members who contributed to the accreditation, and that the image represents a broader team that includes many others not pictured. The office said each individual played an important role in reaching the milestone.
Accreditation through the American Correctional Association, a national organization that establishes standards for correctional facilities, generally indicates an agency meets recognized benchmarks for operations, security and inmate care. The process commonly involves review of policies, procedures and facility practices against national standards.
The Sheriff’s Office extended its appreciation to all jail staff for their work and perseverance, saying the achievement strengthens the agency’s integrity and exemplifies its values. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
