Jackson hosts free expungement clinic April 1
The City of Jackson is partnering with community and legal advocates to host a free expungement clinic Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Smith Robertson Community Center, the city said in a Facebook post. The clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and aims to help eligible residents clear qualifying records.
Organizers said participants should bring a government-issued photo ID and any available court documents. Registration is required; the city asked people to sign up by scanning the QR code on the event flyer posted online.
Expungement can remove or seal certain criminal records and may improve job prospects, housing access and other opportunities for people who qualify, legal advocates say. Cities and advocacy groups often hold clinics like this to provide free legal guidance and help reduce barriers to employment and civic participation.
The clinic is open to eligible Jackson residents and is part of the city’s efforts to connect people with resources that support re-entry and economic stability. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
