Jackson County schedules May 9 hazardous waste collection
Jackson County officials announced on their Facebook page that residents can safely dispose of household hazardous materials on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
The free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the Conrad Mallette Multi-Purpose Arena on Ballpark Road in Vancleave. County officials said the event has been moved to May this year instead of April.
Residents may bring household chemicals, old paint and other hazardous items, county officials said. Jackson County asked residents to review the event flyer posted with the announcement for a full list of accepted items and additional event details.
Such collection events help keep hazardous materials out of landfills and reduce risks to public health and the environment by enabling safe handling and disposal. Jackson County encouraged residents to share the information. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
