HCSO, JPD close administrative offices Monday amid inclement weather

HCSO and JPD administrative offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 26, because of inclement weather, the sheriff and JPD Chief Tyree D. Jones said in a Facebook post.

The post said operations divisions will remain fully active and all essential public safety services will continue without interruption. Deputies and officers will be on duty and responding as conditions evolve, the agencies said.

HCSO and JPD are local law enforcement agencies responsible for patrol, emergency response and public safety in their jurisdictions. Administrative closures generally affect nonessential staff and public-facing services such as office visits, records requests and in-person permitting, while emergency and patrol functions continue.

The closure is intended to protect staff and the public during hazardous conditions. Residents should monitor local forecasts and official agency channels for updates and exercise caution if travel becomes necessary. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
