Gulfport Police welcome four new staff members
Gulfport Police Department said in a Facebook post that it is welcoming four new members to its team: Dispatcher Kirstyn Livingston, Community Service Officer Burtish Hutson, Community Service Officer Jimmy Woods and Officer Keegan Gleaton.
The department said it is excited to have the new employees join the “Gulfport family” and asked residents to help welcome them as they begin their service. The post included community-oriented hashtags emphasizing pride and new beginnings.
Dispatchers answer emergency and nonemergency calls and coordinate responses from patrol units, while community service officers typically handle nonviolent calls for service, neighborhood outreach and administrative tasks that free sworn officers for patrol duties. Patrol officers enforce laws, respond to incidents and engage with the community to maintain public safety.
City police departments often highlight new hires to inform residents about staffing and to foster community relations. The department did not provide additional details about start dates or backgrounds in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
