The Gulfport Police Department on Wednesday recognized a group of employees as its employees of the month, listing officers, detectives, dispatchers and support staff, the department said on its Facebook page.
The department named Officer Justin Lee, Officer Cody Swan and Sergeant Jason Cuevas among those honored. It also recognized maintenance shop personnel Van Drace; Detective David Doane; Detective Rachael Corrin; Detective Donald Fredman; and Detective Travis Breland.
Dispatch staff named included Dispatcher Kathryn Hedstrom, Dispatcher Whitney Tipton, Dispatch Supervisor Louis Congelton and Dispatch Supervisor Ryan Bennett. Other honorees were Former Community Service Officer (now Police Officer) Taylor Hurlbert, Officer Matthew Mashburn, Community Service Officer Leighton Harris, Sergeant Jesse Stephenson, Administrative Assistant Calin Crain and Officer Anthony Kerr.
The department thanked Ryan Goldin and the Florence Gardens community for their continued support, saying partnerships like that help strengthen its mission and connection with residents. Such recognition programs are commonly used by police agencies to highlight performance and boost morale among personnel who serve public safety roles.
