Group offers meals, limited water starting 12:30 p.m.
Organizers said in a Facebook post they will begin serving meals at 12:30 p.m. and asked guests to enter through the front door and proceed to the back of the dining area.
The post said adults will receive spaghetti and bread and children will receive hot dogs and chips. Organizers also said they have a very limited supply of gallon drinking water and asked that people take water only if they do not have access to safe, drinkable water.
The post warned that the supply of plates is limited and said the meals are intended for people who are going without, are unable to get out, or are financially burdened and cannot afford a warm meal right now. Organizers asked those who can provide for themselves to allow the food to go to those in greater need.
Community meal programs like this aim to fill gaps for people facing short-term food insecurity. The Facebook post closed by thanking the public for understanding, compassion and support. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
