Friars Point officials seek video after fatal March 22 incident

Friars Point officials are asking residents to check surveillance and doorbell camera footage after a fatal incident on March 22, 2026, the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Officials requested anyone who lives in or near Friars Point to review footage from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on that date for images of a black Infiniti vehicle traveling through the area. The sheriff’s office said residents may remain anonymous if they provide video.

Anyone with potentially relevant footage was asked to email ccso@coahomacountyms.gov or contact the sheriff’s office directly so someone can be arranged to review the material, the post said.

Friars Point is a small town in Coahoma County in northwest Mississippi. Local officials urged the community to come together to assist investigators and said public assistance could be critical to establishing what occurred and holding those responsible accountable.
