Four critically injured in Lafayette County crash

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that on Feb. 7 at approximately 7:33 p.m. the county 911 dispatch center received a report of a vehicle off the roadway with multiple injuries on County Road 313.

Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Lafayette County Fire Department and Priority Ambulance Service (Baptist) were dispatched to the scene, the post said. Fire department personnel located one vehicle off the roadway with four critically injured patients, and medical personnel immediately began life-saving measures.

Because of the patients’ conditions, four medical helicopters were requested, the office said, including Hospital Wing, Pafford Air and Air Evac. Three patients were transported to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo and one patient was transported to Regional One Health in Memphis. All four were reported to be in critical condition at the time of transport.

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is investigating the cause of the crash and said no further information will be released at this time. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
