Federal, local agencies strengthen partnerships at DeSoto training

Organizers said in a Facebook post that they hosted a one-day DeSoto Partnership Training class aimed at strengthening ties between local and federal law enforcement agencies.

Nearly 40 officers from within DeSoto County attended the session and heard from representatives of multiple federal agencies that operate in north Mississippi, the post said. Those representatives reinforced a common message: “If you need assistance, we are only a call away,” organizers said.

The post said effective information sharing is a critical resource that helps close gaps quickly in cases that are time-sensitive or even life-threatening. DeSoto County borders Tennessee and is part of a region where cross-jurisdictional cooperation often plays a key role in investigations and emergency responses.

The Facebook post thanked Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Richard Upchurch for coordinating the class and bringing the training to DeSoto County. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
