Biloxi police warn Beach Boulevard traffic affected by Clash Triathlon
Biloxi Police Department posted on its Facebook page that the Clash Triathlon will travel along Beach Boulevard this Saturday and Sunday, affecting traffic between DeBuys Road and Beauvoir Road from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Motorists should expect increased traffic, temporary lane closures and possible delays in the area while athletes compete, the department said. Drivers are urged to plan alternate routes, allow extra travel time and follow posted signs and directions from law enforcement.
A triathlon combines swimming, cycling and running and typically requires temporary road restrictions for athlete safety and crowd control. Beach Boulevard is a primary east-west roadway along Biloxi’s Gulf Coast, and closures there can affect commuter and recreational traffic.
Biloxi Police Department asked residents to support the athletes while observing safety instructions. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
