Biloxi council approves Chris DeBack as police chief

The Biloxi City Council approved the appointment of Assistant Chief Chris DeBack as chief of police for the Biloxi Police Department, the council announced.

The council said DeBack brings decades of dedication, leadership and service to the department and the Biloxi community. His appointment marks what city officials described as a continuation of the department’s focus on public safety and community partnership.

The Biloxi Police Department is the city’s primary law enforcement agency, responsible for policing a Gulf Coast community known for its tourism, seafood industry and waterfront neighborhoods. Leadership changes at the top of a municipal police force can affect department priorities, community outreach and relations with residents.

The city encouraged residents to join in congratulating DeBack as he assumes the role. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
