Lowndes County sheriff’s office seeks victims in theft case

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying potential victims after a theft investigation on Columbus’s north side.

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, deputies responded to a report of multiple thefts at a residence on the 1200 block of Park Circle. The victim said someone entered the property three times and stole items from beneath the patio, with the stolen property valued at more than $1,500.

The victim provided deputies with videos and photos of the suspect, who was later identified as Leroy Fearce. On January 2, 2026, Fearce was arrested on a probation violation warrant. During questioning, he admitted to taking the stolen items and led deputies to recover them. Authorities also found additional property believed to belong to other individuals.

The sheriff’s office urges anyone who recognizes Fearce, has had him work at their home, or has experienced missing or stolen property to contact investigators. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the P3Tips app, to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office at (662) 328-6788, or through Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers.

The agency thanks the public for their assistance in the investigation.
