Capitol Police Seek Public Help in 2024 Hit-and-Run Case
Capitol Police are asking for the public’s assistance in a deadly hit-and-run incident that occurred in November 2024.
On Sunday, Nov. 17, at about 6:51 p.m., officers responded to Raymond Road near Valley Street, underneath the viaduct, where they found Cedric Jones lying motionless on the pavement.
Jones was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment but died from his injuries on Feb. 2, 2025.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the case to contact Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers. Tips leading to an arrest could earn a reward of up to $2,500.
