Mississippi teacher and football coach arrested on campus for multiple counts of lustful touching
A Mississippi high school football coach was arrested on Tuesday and charged with multiple counts of lustful touching, according to officials in Tippah County.
Quess Hood, former head coach at Falkner and current assistant coach at Potts Camp, was arrested shortly after 3:30 on Tuesday, October 26th according to Kelly McMillen with the Marshall County Sheriffs Department. The Marshall County officers carried out the arrest at the Potts Camp campus.
The charges were filed through the City of Ripley, where Hood is a resident. Hood was also a former coach at Ripley prior to taking the job at Falkner.
Hood was booked in to the Tippah County Jail shortly after 5 pm on Tuesday and was released shortly before 11 am on Wednesday. He was released on $50,000 bond according to officials with Tippah County.
Superintendent of Marshall County schools Roy Lawson said that he was aware of the arrest and that the school district would be meeting with their attorney Wednesday and issuing a formal statement.
Multiple calls to the City of Ripley Police Department were not returned by publication time. We will update this story as any statement is made by the Ripley Police.
A Freedom of Information Act request for information related to Hood’s arrest was filed with the Clerk of the Court for Ripley. The Court said it would take up to 7 days to release that information.
