Victims services team attends national conference on sexual assault, domestic violence
The agency’s Victims Services Team is attending the Empowering Change: Innovative Response Strategies for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence conference, sponsored by End Violence Against Women International, the agency said in a Facebook post. The conference lists more than 1,700 registered attendees from all 50 states and eight countries.
The agency said its staff are taking part to stay current on the latest research, tools and best practices for responding to sexual assault and domestic violence. Officials said that continuing education helps them better serve survivors in the community with care and professionalism.
End Violence Against Women International, commonly known as EVAWI, is a nonprofit organization that provides training, technical assistance and resources to improve criminal justice and advocacy responses to sexual violence. Its conferences draw law enforcement officers, victim advocates, prosecutors and other professionals who work with survivors.
The agency said it was proud of the team for investing time and resources in the training. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
