Covington County DRC closure For the March 14-15 storms
July 8, 2025 – In coordination with county officials, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) will be closing a disaster recovery center (DRC) permanently this week. The center in Covington County will close operations at the close of business on July 11th, 2025. Survivors can access applications online and can visit the recovery center in Grenada County.
MEMA continues to work with federal and local partners to help survivors of the March 14-15 storms and tornadoes with their recovery. As of June 8th, FEMA has given out more than $19 million in individual assistance to the 8,544 residents who have applied for federal aid. Affected households have also received more than $11 million in housing assistance. Applicants are reminded that even if you have insurance, you are still encouraged to apply—additional funds may be available.
Residents can also apply in personby visiting a Disaster Recovery Center at any of the following locations:

Center hours are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Saturday; closed on Sundays
Residents in the approved counties who sustained losses during the March 14-15 severe weather can apply for FEMA assistance by using the FEMA App, going online to DisasterAssistance.gov, or calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. If you use a relay service such as Video Relay Service, captioned telephone, or other service, provide FEMA with your number for the service.
