Toppers topple ABAC in high-scoring senior night win

Blue Mountain Christian University used a balanced offensive outburst to beat Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College 113-91 on Monday night at Tyler Gymnasium in Blue Mountain, Miss., capping Senior Night with a decisive Southern States Athletic Conference victory.

The Toppers played with pace from the opening tip, sharing the ball, attacking gaps in the defense and converting on transition chances that stretched the margin throughout the game. Multiple scoring runs and steady defensive activity kept ABAC on its heels as Blue Mountain maintained control.

Gavin Shannon led Blue Mountain with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Michael Hill scored 23, Esrael Yant had 20, and Kam Carter added 12 points and seven assists while directing the offense. Jalen Boyd-Savage hit four three-pointers on his way to 12 points, and RJ Robinson provided 10 points to round out the double-figure scorers.

The win closed the Toppers’ home slate on a high note. Blue Mountain will play at Loyola University (La.) on Feb. 19. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
