Toppers top Stillman 11-0, 12-1 in Tuscaloosa doubleheader

Tuscaloosa, Ala. — Blue Mountain Christian University opened a doubleheader with a dominant 11-0 win over Stillman College before closing the day with a 12-1 victory, the school reported.

The Toppers jumped ahead early in the opener and seized control with seven runs in the second inning, then added insurance in the fourth and fifth. Aspen Teague drove the attack with three RBIs and multiple hits, Maryn Macri went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a triple, and Kelsey Camp and Rachel Rommel also contributed offensively. BMCU applied pressure on the bases with multiple stolen bases.

On the mound in the opener, Bri Langley tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing two hits and striking out four to set the defensive tone for the day, the release said.

In the nightcap, the Toppers kept their offense rolling in a 12-1 win. BMCU scored in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Bre Ramsey had two RBIs and multiple hits, Anna Harrison added two RBIs, and Gail Wisher produced a triple and other extra-base hits. Pinch hitter Vaye Savage delivered a three-run triple in the sixth. Jana Shaw held Stillman to one run over six innings on the mound. Blue Mountain Christian will host Williams Baptist College (Ark.) on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., according to the BMCU schedule.
