BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian swept Williams Baptist 4-0 and 7-2 in its home opener Tuesday, using timely hitting, aggressive baserunning and complete-game pitching to control both games.

In the opener the Toppers scored two runs in the first and two in the third. Maryn Macri hit a two-run home run and Kelsey Camp added a two-RBI single as Anna Harrison scored twice to help fuel the 4-0 shutout.

Neely Cooper threw a complete-game shutout, working seven innings and allowing five hits to pick up the win in the opener. In the nightcap Blue Mountain Christian plated three runs in the second, added one in the fourth and broke the game open with a three-run sixth en route to a 7-2 victory.

Harrison led the offense with three RBIs in the second game and finished the doubleheader a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, stealing four bases in the nightcap and totaling six stolen bases across both games. Macri and Camp each drove in two runs in the sweep. Jana Shaw went the distance in the nightcap, giving up three hits and two runs over seven innings.
