Toppers sweep doubleheader, start season 13-0

Blue Mountain Christian continued a historic start to the 2025-26 season Thursday in Blue Mountain, Miss., sweeping a doubleheader to improve to 13-0, the best start in program history for the Toppers.

In Game One, Blue Mountain Christian totaled 10 hits and applied constant pressure through the lineup. Maryn Macri, Mikaylah Fuqua, Karen Wisher, Rachel Rommel and Neely Barrier each drove in runs, and Barrier delivered a key extra-base hit in a late inning. Madison Montgomery worked a complete game, allowing one run over seven innings while the defense committed no errors.

The momentum carried into Game Two as the Toppers jumped out early and never relinquished control. Macri led the offense with a multi-RBI game and several teammates contributed hits and runs. The pitching staff combined to hold the opponent scoreless, allowing just two hits, and the defense produced another steady outing to complete the sweep.

With the two victories, Blue Mountain Christian set a new standard for the program by opening 13-0, reflecting balanced pitching, hitting and fielding. The Toppers play next at Crowley’s Ridge College on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
