Toppers fall to Life University in conference game

MARSHALL, Ga. — The Blue Mountain College women’s basketball team lost to Life University 73-55 Thursday night in a Southern States Athletic Conference game at the Eagles’ Nest.

Blue Mountain stayed competitive early, exchanging baskets with Life in the first quarter before the Eagles pulled ahead. The Toppers adjusted offensively in the second quarter, working the ball inside and battling for rebounds to stay within striking distance at halftime.

Life increased its lead after the break, thanks to a strong third quarter. Despite the deficit, Blue Mountain continued to fight defensively and looked for scoring opportunities. The Toppers remained aggressive in the final period, but Life’s efficient play down the stretch secured the victory.

Maddie Kirk led Blue Mountain with 17 points. McKenzie Williams posted a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Isabella Carlson contributed four assists and five rebounds. Dominique Collins scored six points off the bench.

The Toppers will return to action next week when they host the Thomas University Nighthawks at Tyler Gymnasium in Marietta, Georgia. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
