Toppers fall to Life University in conference game
MARSHALL, Ga. — The Blue Mountain College women’s basketball team lost to Life University 73-55 Thursday night in a Southern States Athletic Conference game at the Eagles’ Nest.
The Toppers stayed competitive early, exchanging baskets with Life in the first quarter before the Eagles pulled ahead slightly. Blue Mountain focused on inside offense and rebounding in the second quarter, narrowing the gap before halftime.
Life built a lead after the break, using a strong third quarter to extend its advantage. The Toppers continued to battle defensively and looked for scoring opportunities, remaining aggressive into the final period. However, Life’s efficiency down the stretch secured the victory for the home team.
Maddie Kirk led Blue Mountain with 17 points. McKenzie Williams posted a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, her team high. Isabella Carlson contributed four assists and five rebounds, while Dominique Collins added six points off the bench.
Blue Mountain will return to action next week when they host the Thomas Nighthawks at Tyler Gymnasium. This is a developing story, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
