Toppers fall 7-0 to Loyola at SSAC Roundup

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian University opened play at the SSAC Tennis Roundup on Thursday, falling 7-0 to Loyola University (La.) in Montgomery, Alabama.

In doubles action, Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos played at the No. 1 position and lost 3-6. Lina Cetina and Lucia Garcia dropped their No. 2 doubles match 3-6. Nami Malyaporn and Kiersten Terris finished the doubles lineup with a 2-6 loss as Loyola claimed the doubles point.

In singles, Mordiz competed at No. 1 singles, falling 4-6, 3-6. Cetina lost at No. 2 singles, 1-6, 4-6. Garcia fell at No. 3 singles, 1-6, 0-6, and Malyaporn dropped her No. 4 singles match 2-6, 2-6. Eugenia Ramos took the opening set at No. 5 singles before the match ended 6-0, 3-6 in Loyola’s favor. Terris completed the lineup at No. 6 singles, losing 0-6, 1-6.

The neutral-site SSAC Roundup brings conference teams together as they enter the heart of Southern States Athletic Conference competition. The Toppers will continue play at the roundup as conference matches proceed in Montgomery. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
