Toppers compete against Freed-Hardeman in Jackson
Jackson, Tenn. — Blue Mountain Christian Universitys womens tennis team battled the Freed-Hardeman Lions on Tuesday, showing fight across the lineup and earning two singles victories, according to a Blue Mountain Christian University news release.
In doubles action, the No. 1 pairing of Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos dropped a competitive 6-4 decision. Lucia Garcia and Lina Cetina faced a tough matchup at No. 2 doubles, while Nami Malyaporn and Kiersten Terris played one of the closest matches of the day, falling 7-5 after a hard-fought contest.
The Toppers found success in singles as Cetina highlighted the day with a 7-6 first-set tiebreak and a 6-3 second set to win her match. Ramos posted a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory. Malyaporn showed resilience after losing the first set 6-3, rebounded to take the second 6-1 and forced a tiebreak before ultimately falling. Mordiz, Garcia and Terris continued to battle at their singles positions.
