Toppers battle to final buzzer, fall 77-74 to Tennessee Southern

Pulaski, Tennessee — Blue Mountain Christian pushed the pace Friday night but fell short, losing 77-74 to Tennessee Southern in a Southern States Athletic Conference game.

Tennessee Southern built an early edge, and Blue Mountain Christian stayed within reach through the first half. The Toppers chipped away in the third quarter and erupted for 26 points in the fourth, forcing a tense finish that Tennessee Southern closed out in the final seconds.

Rebecca Walter led Blue Mountain Christian with a game-high 21 points. McKenzie Williams recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Kathryn Echols connected on four three-pointers on her way to 14 points, and Maddie Kirk also scored 14. Isabella Carlson added five rebounds and four assists.

Blue Mountain Christian will host Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for Senior Day on Monday at 5:30 p.m. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
