Stillman edges Blue Mountain Christian 86-70
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Stillman defeated Blue Mountain Christian 86-70 on Thursday night as the host Tigers used a strong offensive showing to pull away in the second half.
Blue Mountain Christian remained competitive early behind senior Gavin Shannon, who scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Esrael Yant added 16 points and 10 rebounds, giving the Toppers a double-figure scoring presence inside, and Jonathan Baker contributed 17 points.
Despite the loss, the Toppers displayed grit and individual scoring that could serve as building blocks for the remainder of the season. The team travels next to the University of Tennessee Southern on Feb. 14 for a 2 p.m. game.
