Ramsey lifts Toppers to sweep of No. 19 UT Southern

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Mississippi — Blue Mountain Christian swept No. 19 UT Southern on Saturday at the BMCU Sportsplex, capped by Bre Ramsey’s walk-off double in the first game and a dominant follow-up performance in the nightcap that gave the program its most wins in a single season.

In the opener, the Toppers rallied for a 6-5, eight-inning victory. Aspen Teague had two RBIs, including the game-tying hit in the seventh inning, and Anna Harrison added two RBIs. Ramsey delivered the game-ending double to left center, and the Toppers finished with 10 hits; Ramsey and Teague each had two hits.

Madison Montgomery earned the win in the first game, throwing a complete eight-inning outing and allowing four earned runs. Montgomery remained in the circle after being hit by a line drive midway through the game.

Blue Mountain carried momentum into the second game, winning 7-2. Ramsey had a three-run triple in the fifth and finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Neely Cooper threw a complete game, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits with seven strikeouts as the Toppers recorded nine hits in the victory.
