Life tops Blue Mountain in SSAC basketball game
MARietta, Ga. — Life University defeated Blue Mountain College 86-68 in a Southern States Athletic Conference game at the Eagles’ Nest on Saturday night.
The game was fast-paced from the start, with both teams trading baskets early. Life built a double-digit lead in the first half thanks to efficient shooting and strong inside play, taking control before halftime. Blue Mountain fought back after the break, attacking the rim and increasing their pace, but Life’s offensive execution kept the home team ahead throughout the second half.
Blue Mountain was led by Jonathan Baker, who scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds. Gavin Shannon added 15 points and four rebounds, while Michael Hill contributed 13 points. Chris Carter came off the bench to score 10 points. Jalen Boyd-Savage dished out four assists, helping facilitate the Toppers’ offense as they battled until the final whistle.
The Toppers are scheduled to return to action next week, hosting the Thomas Nighthawks at Tyler Gymnasium. This is a developing story, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
