Magee Police Department Launches Holiday Safety Checks to Prevent Drunk Driving
The Magee Police Department is committed to community safety during the holiday season. Officers will set up sobriety checkpoints throughout the city to deter impaired driving, according to Police Chief Denis J. Borges.
Drivers are urged not to operate vehicles under the influence, as impaired driving can lead to arrest. The department will seek warrants for blood draws if necessary to determine blood alcohol content.
Chief Borges emphasized that their goal is to protect residents and visitors, especially with families traveling and new teen drivers on the road. The department plans to enforce safety measures consistently to keep Magee safe during the holidays.
He also noted that individuals should be aware that their actions may be publicly shared on Facebook, and transparency is part of their community outreach.
