Reeves visits National Guard armory in Iuka as resources deploy in county
Gov. Tate Reeves said in a Facebook post that he visited the Mississippi National Guard Armory in Iuka, adding that the facility is a staging point from which resources are deployed throughout Tishomingo County.
Reeves thanked Mississippi’s Soldiers for their service, saying they “once again [rose] to the occasion and exceeding expectations,” and expressed gratitude for their work supporting communities. The comments appeared alongside photos on his official Facebook page.
The Mississippi National Guard provides training, emergency response and logistical support across the state. Armories such as the one in Iuka commonly serve as bases for equipment, personnel and deployment coordination, particularly in rural counties in northeastern Mississippi.
The governor’s visit highlights state officials’ ongoing coordination with the Guard to marshal resources for local needs. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
