Reeves thanks Musk, xAI for sending 500 generators to Mississippi
In a Facebook post, Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves thanked Elon Musk and xAI for sending 500 generators to Mississippi.
Reeves, the state’s governor, offered the brief message on his official Facebook account but did not include details about where the generators came from beyond the acknowledgement or when and how they would be distributed across the state.
Elon Musk is a business executive known for leading companies including Tesla and SpaceX. xAI is an artificial intelligence company associated with Musk. Generators can provide temporary power to homes, businesses and critical facilities during outages, and deliveries of such equipment often play a role in state and local emergency responses.
Private donations and corporate assistance have supplemented government efforts in past emergencies; state officials typically oversee distribution of equipment to communities in need. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
