Mississippi hosts Snowflake for AI training event in Jackson
JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi officials teamed up with Snowflake Inc. to train more than 100 residents on artificial intelligence data technology, Gov. Tate Reeves announced on Facebook.
Reeves said he met Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy last year, during which he emphasized the state’s need to prepare its workforce for emerging jobs. Snowflake agreed to partner with Mississippi to provide training and expertise.
Reeves expressed gratitude to Snowflake and the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network for their efforts. He said Mississippi’s workers are among the most dedicated and capable in the country, and he believes that the combination of new technologies and local talent will make the state unstoppable.
The event took place in Jackson, where participants are being introduced to Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud technology.
Reeves concluded by stating, “This is Mississippi’s time!”
