School Resumes Monday; Drivers Urged to Follow Bus Safety Laws

School resumes Monday, and officials emphasize the importance of following bus safety laws as students return to class.

Drivers must stop when a school bus is picking up or dropping off students. On two-lane or multi-lane roads without medians, vehicles traveling in both directions must stop.

If a divided road has a median or barrier, drivers behind the bus must stop. Drivers on the opposite side of the median can proceed cautiously.

When stopping for a school bus, drivers should stay at least 10 feet back to give children space to safely enter and exit.

Drivers along bus routes are advised to leave early to avoid traffic delays and ensure safety for students.

Officials urge everyone to watch out for children and prioritize safety as the new school year begins.
