Port Gibson police arrest Texas fugitive wanted for assault

The Port Gibson Police Department arrested Latavien Manning, a fugitive wanted in Dallas, Texas, on Jan. 4, 2026.

Officers received credible information on Jan. 3 that Manning was in Port Gibson. He had been on the run for about six months and faced charges of aggravated assault with a firearm in Dallas.

After confirming Manning’s location through surveillance, officers moved in and took him into custody without incident. No injuries were reported during the arrest, which was carried out safely and professionally, according to police.
