Mississippi troopers recognize Autism Awareness Month, emphasize compassion
JACKSON — The Mississippi State Troopers Association is recognizing Autism Awareness Month in April and is urging patience, understanding and compassion in interactions with individuals, families and communities across the state.
In a social media post, the association said the observance “is about more than awareness — it’s about showing patience, choosing understanding, and leading with compassion in every interaction.” The post also announced that Autism Awareness–themed shirts will be available next week through the Mississippi State Troopers store.
The association, an organization representing Mississippi state troopers, did not provide further details about the shirt sale or related events in its post. Autism Awareness Month is observed each April and is commonly used to promote greater understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder.
Officials said the message is intended to remind troopers and the public to respond with care in community interactions. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
