Authorities arrest two Vicksburg homicide suspects in Indiana
KOKOMO, Ind. — Two 18-year-old suspects wanted in connection with a Vicksburg homicide were arrested Sunday in Kokomo, Indiana, Kokomo police said.
Kokomo officers were contacted by the Vicksburg Police Department on Feb. 21 with information that the suspects might be in the Kokomo area, police said. Investigators located the suspects’ vehicle at a residence east of the city and around 8 a.m. on Feb. 22 executed a search warrant at the home.
After a brief negotiation, officers took two people into custody on first-degree murder charges, Kokomo police said. The suspects were identified by Vicksburg police as Quintin Wilson and Arkeyveion Stamps, both 18.
Vicksburg police said Wilson and Stamps are wanted in connection with the death of Jaylon Walker, 18, of Hermanville. Walker was found dead inside his vehicle on U.S. Highway 61 South in Vicksburg on Feb. 11. The two suspects are being held in Indiana pending extradition to Mississippi, which typically requires formal paperwork and approval by state authorities before transfer.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
