BREAKING: House of Representatives Votes to Impeach President Trump
For the second time in his four-year term, the Commander-in-Chief will face a Senate impeachment trial.
On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted in favor of impeaching President Donald Trump on one count on “inciting insurrection.”
This comes after the violent protest at the nation’s Capitol building last week. Five people died during the course of the protest.
Trump has already faced an impeachment trial once. Back in 2019, the President faced an impeachment trial on counts of obstruction of justice.
The vote count sat at 232 to 197 with every Democrat voting in favor and being joined by 10 Republicans. The vote back in 2019 was split along party lines.
The Senate trial is not expected to take place until after Joe Biden’s inauguration.
