Yazoo City Man Sentenced to 27 Years for Statutory Rape
YAZOO CITY, Miss. — Yazoo City resident Adrian Jamaal Hill has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for one count of statutory rape, Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced today. The sentencing follows an investigation and prosecution by the Attorney General’s Office.
Circuit Court Judge Jannie Lewis-Blackmon sentenced Hill on Aug. 4 to 27 years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He will serve 12 years of his sentence, followed by five years of supervised probation. Under the terms of the sentence, Hill must serve the time day-for-day without the possibility of parole.
“Sexual assault is a violation of the most intimate nature, robbing victims of the deepest sense of privacy and harming them in ways that will haunt them for a lifetime,” Fitch said. “My office is dedicated to protecting these victims and making our communities safer by holding these perpetrators accountable. Thank you to the incredible work of our investigators and prosecutors for ensuring that justice was served.”
In addition to the prison sentence, Hill was ordered to pay $1,000 to the Mississippi Children’s Trust Fund and $1,000 to the Victims of Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation Fund. Upon his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender.
