Two Children Die in Gautier Pool Tragedy; Mother Arrested on Drug Charges
GAUTIER – A heartbreaking incident in Gautier left two young children dead Monday evening after they were found unresponsive near a swimming pool at a home on Three Oaks Drive.
Authorities say first responders from the Gautier Police and Fire departments arrived around 5:30 p.m. and immediately began life-saving efforts. Both children were transported by Acadian Ambulance Service to Ocean Springs Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
The children’s mother, Amber Goldman, 36, was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Police say additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy that has deeply affected our community,” said Gautier Police Chief David Bever. “Our hearts are with the family, friends, and first responders impacted by this heartbreaking loss. We ask everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as investigators continue to seek answers.”
