Reeves sets four special elections

July 7, 2025 – Gov. Tate Reeves is announcing that four special elections have been set. Two of the special elections are for the Mississippi Senate, one is for the Mississippi House of Representatives, and one is for Tax Collector/Assessor in Pearl River County.

The three special elections for Senate District 24 (Leflore, Panola, and Tallahatchie Counties), Senate District 26 (Hinds and Madison Counties), and House District 26 (Bolivar, Coahoma, and Sunflower Counties) will be held on Nov. 4. The qualifying deadline for these elections is Aug. 21.

The special election for the Tax Collector/Assessor in Pearl River County will be held on Nov. 4. This special election will be conducted only in the Picayune Southside 1 and Picayune 2 precincts, and the results of this special election will be added to the totals from the other 25 precincts, in accordance with the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law of the Circuit Court.
