Off-Duty McComb Officer Killed in Triple Shooting

MCCOMB, Miss. — An off-duty McComb police officer was killed Tuesday evening in a shooting that left two others shot, including one fatally, before the gunman took his own life.

According to officials, Sgt. Jason Blake responded to assist someone who had called him for help. During the incident, the gunman opened fire inside a residence, shooting two people and then killing himself.

Blake, a five-year veteran of the McComb Police Department with over 16 years of law enforcement experience, died at the scene. The shooting occurred near Highway 44 and Cole Thomas Road.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. Authorities have not released the identities of the other victims.
