Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Suspect in Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Case

Lowndes County, Miss. — The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Willie Guyton III in connection with a violent domestic assault that left a six-month-old infant seriously injured.

On September 18, 2025, deputies responded to Baptist Memorial Hospital following a report of domestic assault. The investigation revealed that Guyton attempted to physically assault his girlfriend and did physically assault their six-month-old baby. The infant suffered a skull fracture and required immediate medical treatment. She was later transferred to Jackson for further specialized care.

Arrest warrants were issued for Guyton on charges of Domestic Violence and Felony Child Abuse. On Monday, September 22, deputies located him at his workplace in Millport, Alabama, and took him into custody without incident.

Sheriff Eddie Hawkins addressed the case, saying:

“This type of violence, especially against a defenseless child, is intolerable. Our thoughts and prayers are with this infant, and her family. We are hoping for a speedy recovery.”
