Jackson Teen Arrested for St. Patrick’s Day Shooting That Left One Dead, Several Injured

JACKSON, Miss. – Capitol Police have arrested 18-year-old Kayne Davis in connection with the St. Patrick’s Day shooting that occurred on March 22, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi. The violent incident resulted in one death and multiple injuries, sparking a multi-agency manhunt.

Authorities say Davis fled the state after the shooting. With the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, Capitol Police were able to locate and apprehend him on July 10.

Davis now faces one count of murder and seven counts of aggravated assault.

Law enforcement officials praised the work of Capitol Police officers, investigators, and all assisting agencies for bringing the suspect into custody.

This arrest marks a major development in one of Jackson’s most high-profile shooting cases of the year.
