Greene County officer-involved shooting

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer involved shooting involving a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy that occurred on Thursday, Feb. 1.

Deputies with Greene County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a pursuit with the subject when one deputy was struck by the subject’s vehicle and received non-life-threatening injuries. After continued pursuit, the subject’s vehicle veered off the road and came to a stop.

The subject then exited the vehicle with a weapon and the deputies discharged their firearms. The subject surrendered to the officers on the scene. This information is preliminary and subject to change.
